A few months ago, while thrifting up in Seattle, I came across what might’ve been the world’s ugliest piggy bank. I’m talking busted ear, weird proportions, and just… tragic energy. But the moment I saw her, I knew—I knew—I could turn this quirky little creature into something fabulous.
No one else agreed. Not my friends, not the other shoppers, not even the cashier ringing me up (who actually laughed and said, “Good luck with that”). But I had a vision.
I started by using polymer clay to repair her broken ear and sculpted a vintage pin-up hairstyle worthy of a calendar girl. Then came the airbrush—adding a warm, healthy glow to her curves and a stylish little bikini to match. For the final touches, I added a few glam piercings and hand-painted some classic tattoos to really seal the retro pin-up look.
Not gonna lie, I impressed even myself with this transformation. She’s bold. She’s glam. She’s got attitude. And best of all—she’s truly one of a kind.
